William “Harold” Winchester of Blanchard was born on May 13, 1937 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to William A. and Letha Maude (Herriage) Winchester. He passed from this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years.
Harold grew up in Maysville where he graduated from Maysville High School in 1955. After high school he served his country in the United States Army. He married Linda Kay Moore on July 14, 1962. They made their homes in Virginia, Arizona, North Carolina, Colorado and Pennsylvania before settling in Blanchard in 1985. Harold worked in Marriott food services, aviation, as a truck driver and did lawn maintenance for Sysco. He loved his family and many friends. He enjoyed gardening, whether it be large or small, watching the birds at the feeders, fishing, eating watermelon, and the years he spent in aviation. Harold loved the Lord and was a member and deacon of Northwest Bible Church in Oklahoma City for 30 years. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
His survivors include his wife, Linda Kay Winchester of the home.
A daughter, Denise Tornquist of Oklahoma City.
Grandchildren: Rose Tornquist and Cameron Tornquist.
Brothers: Jimmy Winchester and wife Linda of Dickson; Curtis Winchester and wife Margaret of Maysville; Larry Winchester and wife Kathy of Marietta; and Jerry Winchester and wife Karen of Marietta.
Brother in law and sister in law: Ken and Dotty Moore, Virginia
Numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maude Winchester and a sister, Doris Gammill.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville with Pastor Alan Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
