William Edward “Bill” Ellis of Jenks, Oklahoma was born on October 17, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK to Calvin Henry Ellis and Martha Lucille (Burns) Ellis. He passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years. Bill grew up in Bakersfield, California, graduating from Bakersfield High School in 1964. After graduation, he joined the U. S. Navy where he serve his country. He later became a self-employed cross-country truck driver where he traveled across the United States. When his father died, Bill and his mother, Lucille moved to Tulsa. Later Bill was in a truck accident and hospitalized for awhile and his mother took care of him until he got back on his feet again. His survivors include his nieces: Shelley Brucker and husband Benjamin of Portland, Oregon and Melinda Swartzentruber and husband Robert of Olympia, Washington. Devoted friend, Steve Evans of Jenks. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Lucille Ellis; and sister Genevieve Ellis. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Maysville Cemetery. Burial is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
