Wesley George

Wesley Auvern George of Lindsay was born on September 5, 1935 in Wallville, Oklahoma to Joseph Wesley George and Gladys (Mauldin) George. He passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years.Wesley was a lifetime resident of Lindsay, graduating from Lindsay High School in 1954. He worked in the oilfield as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed his work and staying busy. Wesley married Venita Billingsley on July 10, 1995 in Las Vegas, Neveda. He loved his family and spending time with them. He liked being in the yard and doing yard work, playing poker on his computer, finding things for others to do, and shrimping in Louisiana. Wesley was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and he loved his church. Survivors include his wife, Venita of the home.Sons: Chris George and wife Janet of Moore; Wesley Wade George of Lindsay; Joey George of Lindsay; and step-son, Kent Owens of Stratford.Daughters: Susan Wilkins and husband Noel of Lindsay and Nita Verser and husband Joe of Minco.Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gladys George; and brothers, Thomas Ray George and Jimmy George.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Jerry Billingsley officiating.
