Virginia Alene Cunningham

Virginia Cunningham, age 92, of Lindsay, OK, passed away peacefully in Pauls Valley, OK on January 13, 2025. Born on September 22, 1932, in Bradley, OK, to T.E. and Annie Jones. Virginia grew up in the Bradley area and lived in the Lindsay area her entire life. Virginia married the love of her life, Billy G. Cunningham, on October 19, 1951, in Chickasha, OK. She worked alongside Bill on the farm/ranch while raising her family. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay where she was an active member. She was a member of the Singing Seniors and enjoyed traveling with the church group. Virginia retired from Walmart in 2011 after 20 years. In 2007, she was awarded the Sales Floor Associate of the Year for the Lindsay store. In retirement, she enjoyed the Lindsay Senior Center where she visited with friends and played games. Her greatest joy was her family, and she especially enjoyed holidays and spending time with them. She supported all her children and grandchildren by attending sports events, school events, and life events.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, T.E. and Annie Jones; husband, Bill Cunningham; brothers Kenneth Jones and Claude Jones and son-in-law, David Landrum. Survivors include three children, Danny Cunningham and wife Karen of Newcastle, OK, Patricia Landrum of Yukon, OK, Carla Walton and husband, Troy of Lindsay. She has seven grandchildren, Valerie (Justin) Brewster, Ryan (Megan) Cunningham, Lindsay Kohout, Sarah (Caleb) Everett, Dennis (Briana) Landrum, Jake (Ashton) Walton, and Justin Walton. Virginia has eight great grandchildren, Devin Chastain, Danny Chastain, Olivia Brewster, Hunter Kohout, Karlee Kohout, Landry Everett, Layla Everett and Collins Walton. Other immediate family are one brother, Gene (Kay) Jones of Lindsay, and various nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Bro. Nick Johnson officiating. Burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
