Vera Mae Adams of Lindsay was born on August 6, 1926 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Jasper Ewing Williams and Lydia Lorene (Crump) Williams. She passed from this life on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 91 years.Vera was a lifetime resident of this area graduating from Hughes School in 1946.She married Troy Leslie Adams on April 4, 1947 at the preacher’s home in Wallville and they were married 70 years at the time of his passing. She loved spending time with her family and friends at family get-togethers and reunions and also cooking for them. When her children were in school, she was very active in 4-H and helping the students prepare their speeches for contests. Vera enjoyed traveling, fishing, metal detecting with Troy and going on adventures with him. She was a member of the Lindsay Church of Christ where she had taught 2nd grade Sunday School for many years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Her survivors include her daughter, Beverly Mabry and husband Dean of Shawnee.Grandchildren: Travis Mabry, Stacy Calvert, and Parnell Adams.Great grandchildren: Taryn Mabry, Tanner Mabry, Dylan Calvert, Paige Calvert, Sawyer Adams, Parker Adams, Conner Adams, and Brent Higgins.And many other relatives.Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Lydia Williams; husband, Troy Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Troy Wayne Adams and Sandra Adams; and brothers, J. E. Williams, Lewis Williams, and Everett Williams.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Lindsay Church of Christ with Josh Howe officiating.
