Veletia Gladys Lyons was born on February 17, 1935, in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Edwin and Martha (Aikman) Howell and passed away on December 2, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years.
Veletia enjoyed visiting coin shops, dancing and listening to Country and Western music. She loved bowling and playing Moon dominoes with her three children. Veletia loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Veletia had a love of God that shone brightly in her eyes with a hint of mischievousness. She had a gift of making everyone feel special.

Survived by: daughter, Jacqueline McDaniel of Linsay, Oklahoma; sons: Claud Muril (Dawn) McDaniel, Jr. of Magnolia, Texas and Gene Vaughn (Lorna) McDaniel of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. 5 grandchildren; Jennifer (Ben) Franklin, Jason (Michelle) McDaniel, Travis Jimenez, Joy (Bryan) DeManbey, Katie (Kyle) Klepel; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren.
Preceded by her husband: Claude Muril McDaniel Sr: her parents: Edwin and Martha Howell; brothers: Arnold Howell, Raymond Howell, Don Howell and Jack Howell; sisters: Violet Howell, Pansy Davis, Nona Holcomb and Joyce Dutton.

Visitation will be at noon and Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 8, 2023, in the Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma with Bro. Johnny Sanders officiating. Burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
