Talfey Lee Lail of Lindsay, OK was born on May 15, 1965 in Clinton, OK to Haskell and Letha (Teague) Lail. He passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 in Lindsay, OK at the age of 53 years.
Talfey grew up in Missouri and had been a resident of Lindsay, OK for 3 years. He was loved deeply by all who knew him. He loved Jesus and going to the Lone Star Holiness church where he was a member. He always enjoyed strumming his guitar along with the singing. One of his favorite joys was fishing and hunting with his Dad and being outdoors.
Talfey was extremely wise with his money, collecting and selling cans then keeping all of the money earned in his wallet, he rarely spent a dime. He could also be identified by his hat that simply said “Can Man” on it. He was a man of good taste and loved getting new boots and wore them proudly. Talfey was a collector of ink pens and ball caps, he liked drinking Pepsi and Mountain Dew but LOVED sweet tea.
Survivors include his mother and father, Haskell and Letha Lail of the home in Lindsay.
Brothers: Dwight Lail and wife Lisa of Carson City, Nevada; Larry Lail and wife Angel of Newalla, OK; Rodney McCalester and wife Peggy of Newcastle, OK.
Sisters: Rosetta Lewis of Anderson, Missouri; Sheila Slay and husband Boyd of Lindsay, OK and Lou Wright and husband Kevin of Maysville, OK.
He is also survived by 13 nieces, 7 nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and loved ones.
Finally, he is survived by his beloved dog, Mitzi.
Talfey was preceded in death by his grandparents, T.C. and Lucille Lail of Lindsay, OK and Talfey and Rettie Teague of Anderson, Missouri. Also preceding him in death were 3 nephews; Rocky Calhoun, Justin Calhoun, and Tristen McCalester; 1 niece, Rebekah Herring and 2 brothers-in-law, Jackie Lewis and Edward Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Better Life Community Church in Lindsay, OK with Brother Leroy Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in the Purdy Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
