Syleasta Sarah Durham

Syleasta Sarah Durham of Lindsay was born on March 2, 1945 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Loyd and Quereatha (Harris) Franklin. She passed from this life on Thursday, September 16, 2021 in her home at the age of 76 years.

Syleasta was a longtime resident of the Lindsay area. She married Ronald Henry “Ronnie” Durham on December 22, 1962. She had worked as an assembly line worker at the Delta Faucet Manufacturing Plant. Syleasta enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard, gardening, and going fishing with her husband and son. She loved to go watch the kids play their ballgames. She also enjoyed quilting and the time she spent doing it. Syleasta was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: son, Plase James Durham and wife Rhonda of Lindsay and daughter, Rhonda East and husband Donnie of Binger.
Sisters: Twanna Hogue of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Zrada Milburn and husband Mike of Yukon.
Grandchildren: Chaz Chaffin, Que, Jonnie, Carrie, and Dallas Winston; 5 great grandchildren.

Syleasta was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Quereaha Franklin; husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Durham; and son, Kenneth Durham.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Brother Clay Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Erin Springs Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
