A Tribute to a LifeStanford William “Butch” Moore, Jr.Stanford William “Butch” Moore, Jr. of Maysville, Oklahoma was born on March 28, 1951 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Stanford W. Moore and Dollie Geneva (Walden) Moore and passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years. Stan or Butch as most of his family knew him was raised in Thermopolis, Wyoming, graduating from Hot Springs Colorado High School. He obtained a College Degree in Science from Casper Wyoming College and attended Ham Operating Tech School. In 1979 he moved from Wyoming to Maysville, Oklahoma. Butch was a writer of various science fiction and western books, an electronic geek, ham operator, and was very adventurous. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting, watching westerns on television, reading books, and traveling with his furry companions, Duke and Bandit. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.His survivors include his sisters, Lavon Wheeler of Bountiful, Utah; Norma Sue McLain of Oklahoma City; and Carolyn J. Canady of Elmore City.Brothers, Ron Maynes of Quinam, Washington and Tom Moore of Thermopolis, Wyoming.And numerous nieces and nephews.Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, Stanford and Geneva Moore; sister Virginia Moore; and brothers Hank Moore, James Branum, and Ben Branum.The family would like to give a special thank you to McCortney Hospice nurses, Kelly and LeeAnn.Stanford’s ashes will be taken to Wyoming and a memorial service for family and friends in Oklahoma will be held at a later date at the Maysville Cemetery.
