Ruth Burditt

Ruth Adoline (English) Burditt of Lindsay was born on October 19, 1936 two miles north of Banner, Oklahoma to Ralph Archie English and Adeline Lucretia (Tenney) English. She passed away on January 11, 2018 in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years.At one year of age the family moved to a small place in the holler, 9 miles north of Stillwell, Oklahoma and resided there for just over four years. They later moved to Spaulding, Oklahoma where Ruth attended Spaulding Grade School and then graduated from Spaulding High School in 1954. She married Alvin T. Burditt from Non, Oklahoma on May 26, 1956 at Holdenville, Oklahoma. They made their home in Seminole, Drumright, Chickasha, and Lindsay where they resided since 1962. Ruth was a homemaker and worked at Sherry Classics, Imperial Trailers, and retired from Chevron/Texaco at Maysville after 27 ½ years, but returned to work at Oneok part-time off and on for 9 years. She enjoyed playing with the grandchildren, fishing, fish fries, traveling, playing softball, dominoes, pitching horseshoes, visiting with friends at the coffee shop, reading, watching TV, riding around in her blue dune buggy, and working on anything that was broke. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bradley and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Her survivors include her daughters: Barbara Diane (Burditt) Beasley and husband Randall Beasley of Lindsay and Laura June (Burditt) Somers and husband Michael K. Somers of Lindsay.Sisters: Roberta J. (English) Lee of Ada and Emmelen Pearl (English) Allen and husband Freddie K. Allen of Ada.Grandchildren: Kyle Wesley Ince and wife Jennifer of Durant; Melanie Caitlin Ince and Anthony Mills of Lindsay; Amy Michelle (Somers) Butcher and husband Nelson Lee Butcher of Wallville; and Cody Donnel Somers of Wallville.Great grandchildren: Taegan Marie Butcher and Korben Lee Butcher of Wallville, Sadie Adeline Mills of Lindsay, and Madison Brooke Ince of Durant.Sisters-in-law: Joan Burditt of Braidwood, Illinois and Norma Burditt of Jenks, OK.And numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Ralph A. English; mother, Adeline Lucretia (Tenney) English; and husband, Alvin T. Burditt.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2017 at the Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks and Rev. Lyn Jones officiating.
