Rosemary Ann Williams

August 21, 1926 — November 17, 2018

Rosemary Ann Williams of Maysville was born on August 21, 1926 in Mill Shoals, Illinois to Vernon and Grace (Bradford) Taylor and she passed from her earthly life into eternity on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years.

Rosemary grew up in Crossville, Illinois where she graduated from Crossville High School in 1944. While she was working at the Crossville Baptist Church, she met an ex-military man named Roscoe Williams who had come to work at the Warren Petroleum Plant. They were married on September 15, 1945 in Crossville and were married 67 years at the time of Roscoe’s passing. In 1949 Roscoe’s job transferred the family to Maysville. Granny, as she was affectionately known, was an avid reader who enjoyed book clubs, drama, gardening, collecting salt and pepper shakers, garage sales, and shopping. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Her survivors include her son, John Robert Williams and wife Bobby Lou of Maysville.
A sister, Ramona Timmons of Merritt Island, Florida and sister-in-law, Patti Taylor.
Grandchildren: John W. and Theresa Williams of Maysville; Brad and Jerri Williams of Edmond; and Libby Thomas of Lebanon, Tennessee & fiancé Ken Gandy of Ada.
Great-grandchildren: Connor and John Ross Williams, Molly and Rian Williams, and Peri and Cedar Thomas.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Grace Taylor; her husband, Roscoe Williams on February 28, 2013; a son, Ricky Williams on July 14, 2001; brothers, Miles and Myron Taylor; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Willie Williams, Curtis and Jewell Dean Kelly, Ed Timmons, and Laura Bell Taylor.

The family would like to thank Loving Care Hospice and Sunset Estates Nursing Home for their quality care of Rosemary.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville with Bro. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
