Norma Jane Reyes of Maysville was born on November 9, 1933 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Silas and Irene Blanch (Overby) McCurtain. She passed from this life on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.
Jane lived in Maysville all of her life. She worked as a desk clerk for Rusty’s Truck Wash for many years. She was the matriarch of her family and they all depended on her. Mema, as she was affectionately called, loved her family and they were very important to her. She really enjoyed having family get togethers. She loved singing, playing the guitar, and listening to George Jones. Mema enjoyed playing card games, dominoes, and Wahoo. She was a member of the Abundant Love Fellowship and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Raymond of the home.
Sons: Jerry Gamble of Maysville; Danny Gamble and wife Debby of Maysville; and Bobby Gamble and wife Michelle of Pauls Valley.
Daughter, Dolly Whatley of Norman.
A brother, Paul McCurtain and wife Carolyn of Alex and sister, Mona Ivey of Katie.
Grandchildren: Sheila and Jason Donaho; Stephanie and Kelly Shannon; Jerry Mike and Heidi Gamble; Erin and Dustin Blankenship; Danny Paul Gamble; Julie and Brad Hobson; Kayla Gamble; Abby Gamble; Ashley McCaskill; and Angie McCaskill; 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Step children: Teena and Eduardo Castro; Lisa & Sean Walsh; Danny Reyes; Reyna and Robert Sauseda; and their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Irene McCurtain; husbands, Olin Gamble and Carl Smith; daughter-in-law, Sandy Gamble; great grandson, Jerry Kyle Shannon; brothers, Silas “Bugs” McCurtain and his wife, Lee Wanda, Mitchell McCurtain and wife, Bernie, and P. J. McCurtain and wife, Darlene; and infant sibling twins.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Abundant Love Fellowship, Maysville with Bro. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
