Nola Faye Amos Pelfrey

Nola Faye Amos Pelfrey of Maysville was born on May 20, 1931 in Maysville, Oklahoma to William Horace and Sallie Francis (Moore) Amos and passed from this life on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.

Nola grew up in Maysville where she attended Maysville Schools. She married Glenn Pelfrey and to this union three daughters were born. She worked as a caregiver for many years at the Pauls Valley State School before retiring. Nola’s family and faith were very important to her. She was a very spiritual lady who was devoted to sharing her faith with others and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist in Pauls Valley. She loved her family and spending time with them. Nola enjoyed gardening and the flowers she grew and socializing with people who came to visit. She loved to play games and loved to win and usually did. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Her survivors include her three daughters: Linda Crosslin and husband Dale; Glenda DeArman and husband Rick; and Debbie Pelfrey all of Wayne.
Her sisters: Francis Ward and husband D. C. “Sonny” of Meeker; Joyce Tewksbury and husband Jay of Prague; Joan Davis of Durant; and Donna Tucker and husband Mike of Pottsboro, Texas.
Brothers: Rayburn Amos and wife Darlene of Farmington, New Mexico and Carl Amos and wife Barbara of Norman.
Sister-in-law, Kathy Amos of Piedmont.
Grandchildren: Lisa Armstead (Tim) of Lexington; Terry Crosslin (Lisa) of Ft. Worth, Texas; Shon DeArman (Katy) of Amarillo; and Dusty Newberry of Oklahoma City.
Great Grandchildren: Josh DeArman, Madison Curran (David), Tyler Williams, Avery Armstead, Jordan Jefferson, Logan Crosslin, Kenzie Hendricks (Dawson), Mylie Crosslin, Kayla Crosslin, and Cole Newberry (MaKyla).
Great-great granddaughter, Blakely Newberry.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Sallie Amos; husband, Glenn Pelfrey; sisters, Nona Thomas, Eva Jean Broadway, and Kathy Farrow; brothers, Eddie Amos, Tony Amos, and Richard James Amos; and a grandchildren Jerry Dale Crosslin and Taylor DeArman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 3, 2019 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Pelfrey officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W.
