Michael Eugene Vaughan

Michael Eugene Vaughan of Maysville was born on October 6, 1955 in Morton, Texas to Boyd Eugene and Janetta Ruth (Ramsey) Vaughan. He joined his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.

Mike was a long-time resident of Maysville, graduating from Maysville High School in 1976. While attending school, he played football and ran track.

He loved his family and spending time with all of them. He was a loving son and brother and shared a special bond with each of his siblings. He always took the role of mentor, coach, and teacher, in everything he did.

He worked many jobs throughout the years to support his family, but his biggest and most rewarding job was raising the four children he grew to love as his own. Mike never missed an opportunity to support Joe, Jake, Heather and Holli throughout all aspects of their lives. He loved watching them play sports, coaching little league. He spent countless hours chauffeuring them to games, volunteering to run the chains at the football games and cheering them on from the sidelines and stands. He always made sure they had what they needed, even if it meant shopping for prom dresses. Mike understood sacrifice, better than anyone. Mike loved hard, and had an eye for greatness, which he proved by the way he loved and raised his children. Always pushing them to strive for the best and standing beside them proudly as they accomplished their goals.

Mike had a heart of gold and a spirit that was wild. The second that you met him, you knew, because his grin was ornery and contagious. Mike lived humble and big, bright eyed and ornery, full of life and quiet. He was proud, bold, and would give you everything he had, if he thought it would make you better. He was loved and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his mother, Janetta of Maysville, Oklahoma. Brothers: Brad Vaughan and Jimmy Vaughan, both of Maysville. Sisters: Michelle Morehead and husband David of Kearney, Missouri and Beth Curry and Jerry Jones of Maysville. His children: Joe Curry, Jake Curry, Heather Howell and Holli Spivey and several other relatives.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Eugene Vaughan and his sister, Ginger Kay Ramsey.
