Mary Dexene (Brummett) McGuire

Mary Dexene (Brummett) McGuire of Moore was born on March 8, 1938 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Dex and Ina Mae (Six) Brummett and passed from this life on Friday, January 4, 2019 in her home at the age of 80 years.

Dexene grew up in Maysville where she graduated from Maysville High School in 1956. She worked over thirty years as an accounts manager for O. G. & E. She married Robert McGuire on March 9,1968 at the First United Methodist Church in Maysville. Dexene loved spending time with her family. Faith, family, and friends were the things that were most important to her. She had very strong Maysville roots. She enjoyed traveling with Robert, working large jigsaw puzzles, cryptograms, word searches, and was an avid reader. Dexene was a member of the First Christian Church.

Her survivors include her niece, Nikki Owen of Oklahoma City, a great niece and nephew, and a great-great niece and nephew.
A bonus son, Kevin McGuire and wife Donna of Noble, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Dexene was preceded in death by her parents, Dex and Ina Mae Brummett; husband, Robert McGuire; and brothers, Richard Brummett and Austin Jerry (Bo) Brummett.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville. Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
