Martha Arvilene Springman

July 3, 1940 — July 7, 2022

Martha Arvilene Springman of Lindsay, Oklahoma was born on July 3, 1940, in Healdton, Oklahoma to Arthur and Ruby (Hanson) Watson and passed from this life on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in her home at the age of 82 years.

Martha grew up in the Fox/Healdton area. In her teens, she was employed as a car hop, which she enjoyed. She loved to crochet afghans in the Navaho design. Martha enjoyed working outdoors in her garden growing vegetables to can and she excelled in growing beautiful flowers. She also found joy in mowing and caring for her yard. All of her time at home meant she could be there for her children which were her pride and joy.

Martha was married to David Springman in 1957. To this union three children were born. She raised her family as members of Banner Baptist Church. Later in life she became a member of Erin Springs Baptist Church where she currently attended.

Martha’s family was especially important to her, and she cherished each and every moment together. She was an avid OU fan who loved wearing her crimson and cream and cheering on her favorite team with her “noisy” family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was “Nanny” to all who knew her.

Martha truly had a servant and caregivers heart. This was evident by her many years as a home health care aide and also taking great care of Granny Watson, also known as Wat or GrannyWat. She enjoyed listening to and singing Gospel Hymns and Classic Country Music and found joy in dancing in her younger years.
