Lois Jane Bean

Lois Jane Bean of Pauls Valley was born on June 5, 1939 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Hugh and Elsie (McDonald) Mantooth and passed from this life on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Pauls Valley at the age of 83 years.

Lois grew up in Garvin County and married Morrison Bean on December 10, 1955 in Purcell, Oklahoma. She was a resident of this area all of her life. Lois worked as a nurse’s aide at the Pauls Valley General Hospital for many years before retiring. She had a caregiver’s heart and she liked to help others. She loved her family and spending time with them. Lois was a great cook and seamstress. She enjoyed movies, gardening, window shopping, ceramics, crafts, and crocheting. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Bean of Maysville and Johnny Bean and wife Robin of Maysville; daughter, Susan Reed of Erin Springs; Eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Haskel Mantooth and wife Veta of Lindsay; sisters, Barbara Hulsey of Elmore City, Lula Sanchez and her husband Tony of Dodge City, Kansas, and Naomi Thomas of Lexington.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morrison Bean; granddaughter Racheal Daun Bean; and brother, Alton Mantooth.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Maysville Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Tyler officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John W.
