Linda Lea Cain was born on January 30, 1956, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Frank and Wilma Foster. She passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years.
Linda had a close relationship with her father. Her childhood had many memories of trips taken with her parents from all over the United States. Those trips continued in their later years and her parents would move to Ponca City to be close to Linda the last few years of their lives.
Linda was a 1974 graduate of Maysville High School and went on to study at Oklahoma University. She worked several part time jobs throughout her life. One of which was working in the cafeteria at Northern Oklahoma College. Linda loved interacting with the kids and several students affectionately called her mom.
Linda’s true calling in life was being a wife and mother. She was married to the love of her life, Terry Lee Cain for 45 years. They were truly the love of each other's life. Their marriage was a true testament to what it means to marry your best friend and to stick together through thick and thin. Linda and Terry truly made each other better people. The couple have two daughters and four grandchildren. They enjoyed their grandkids so much. Linda’s sole life mission was to be the best wife, mother, and grandmother she could be, and she sure did succeed!
Linda was such a great mother. Her children always knew that they could come to her with any problem, and she would be right there for them no matter what. Linda's love was unconditional. She always showed up for school and life events no matter what. Birthdays were always so important to her whether it was their first birthday or their 41st birthday, she showed up the exact same way and did everything she could to make it their special day. She never gave up on her children and always pushed them to be the best version of themselves. Linda taught her children to love others with an open heart and not to be judgmental. She taught them to do what was right, even when it was hard to do.
Many summers were spent supporting her husband Terry racing ATV’s. The family enjoyed traveling to different states for the races. Linda’s favorite by far was the Championship race at Loretta Lynn’s. The family would camp there every summer during the races. They spent many hours as a family driving…. that gives you so much time to talk and bond. Linda loved the races. She had her few racers she followed and cheered on but her most favorite was Terry. The family got to visit so many neat places. They got to see the Statue of Liberty one year on the way home from a race.
And then there were times of travel with just Linda and Terry. They got to travel and do so many neat things together, including a trip to Sturgis and attending many concerts.
Linda loved sports and was a huge Sooner and Tonkawa Buccaneer fan. Some of her fondest memories were spent at Gaylord Memorial Stadium and watching Oklahoma Sooners at any sport! She was a season ticket holder for Oklahoma football for 15 years with her daughter Lori and son-in-law Michael. Some of their fondest memories were spent enjoying Oklahoma Sports together. They were fortunate enough to enjoy two bowl games, one regular season away game, and one Championship Game on top of regular season games. They enjoyed Oklahoma sports so much together.
Linda was always the first to lend a helping hand. She will be remembered as the most compassionate and understanding person one would ever meet. Linda will be deeply missed
