Liam Phillip Harrison

February 15, 2015 — January 17, 2021

Liam Phillip Harrison was born into this world on February 15, 2015 and called home on January 17, 2021.

Liam was kind, caring, and adventurous. He loved hiking, camping, climbing, riding his bike, and lightsaber fighting. The outdoors were his happy place however, his most favorite past time was spending time with his loved ones. Liam was everyone’s friend. Every day he would ask to go visit Mamaw, Pappy & Lorali, Poppa & Nanna, or Grammy & Pops. As much as he loved his mom & dad, he was always ready to go somewhere else, because going on a new adventure with friends and family was what made him smile the most. He would always say that when he grew up, he wanted to be a farmer just like his Poppa. He planned to have a big John Deere tractor, cows, horses, dogs, and of course a truck like Dad’s.

His most recent, and most important, adventure was his love of going to church and learning about Jesus. It made for sweet conversations at home and with those that love The Lord. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

There was never a time Liam didn’t have a smile on his face, and anytime you asked him how he was doing his response was always, “Great!”. His smile and ‘I love you’s’ could cure any bad day! He held doors open and wanted to help in any way that he could. His laugh was contagious and lit up the room; he was a light to this world and to all who knew him.

Liam also had a special “gift’ when it came to eating out. Without realizing it, he had a way of always ordering the most expensive item on the menu, including steak and crab legs. Obviously, he had good taste because no one loved crab legs more than Liam Phillip.

Of all the wonderful things we could share with you about our sweet boy, the greatest was his gift of being the best big brother to Lane Tyler. Anytime the boys would go spend the night somewhere, Liam would always say, “don’t worry Mom, I’ll take care of Lane”, and he did. He loved to show Lane how to do things just the right way but wouldn’t seem too terribly annoyed when Lane would do it his own way. They loved to wrestle, sword fight, and play together every chance they had. When Lane wanted a toy that Liam had, Liam would almost always give it to his brother to make him happy. At the end of a long day, they could be found curled up in bed together, resting peacefully. Sacrifice was a natural instinct for Liam; he always put others before himself.

In addition to his little brother, Liam also loved all his cousins, friends, and classmates very much. His sweet teachers would always share that he was a natural caregiver, always helping, holding, and teaching others as much as possible.

Liam was surrounded by our loved ones just before he was welcomed into heaven on January 17th. We are confident that after he was hugged by Jesus, he was held in the arms of his family. We know our Nana, Linda Darlene, made sure she was first in line and then she finally shared him with Great Grandfathers CW Bill Harrison, Phillip Lankford, and Doyle Slay. Great Grandmothers Betty Ann Harrison, Claudean Harrison, and Ella Mae Slay were definitely next, not to be ‘out hugged’ by his Great Mamaw Ruth Perry, and his Aunt Yvonda Reed. We know his Uncles Enoch Slay and Gary Taylor have already taken him on the best hunting trip ever.

Left to cherish Liam Phillip’s memory are his loving parents, Tyler and Amelia Harrison, little brother Lane Tyler; devoted grandparents: Michelle and Chris Howe, Pam and Robert Harrison; and Boyd and Sheila Slay; Papaw great grandfather, Jimmy Perry; great grandmother, Mary Lankford; great-great granddaddy, James "Jim" Perry; Aunts and uncles: Lorali Howe, Anna Harrison Wright and Clayton, Ethan and Ashley Slay, Olivia and Zech Zimmer, Liz and Jose Rojas, Tammie Brewer, and Krystal Taylor; godfather, Matt Thomas and godmother, Jennnifer Reed; and cousins, Quinn and Hayden Zimmer, Blakelynn, Wyatt, and Harper Slay, Jayden, Alex, and Maddelynn Rojas, Axton and Cason Brewer, Grayson and Abby Taylor.

Masks and social distancing will be in practice at the services.
