Kenneth "Kenny" Murl Ward

Kenneth “Kenny” Murl Ward of Elmore City was born on February 17, 1949 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Marvin “Bill” Kenneth Ward and Mavis Murl (Pickens) Ward. He passed from this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019 in his home at the age of 70 years.

Kenny grew up in Maysville, graduating from Maysville High School in 1969 and lived there until 1980 when he and his family moved to Elmore City. He worked with his dad building houses and doing home improvements for many years. Kenny had also worked at WalMart, Pauls Valley State School, and Ensearch Gas Plant. He loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, watching wrestling, western shows, and sports, especially OU football and softball. Kenny was a collector of eagle statues, clocks, and OU memorabilia. He was known to very ornery and liked to pick on others. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

His survivors include his daughter, Regina Ream of Oklahoma City.
Sister, Mary Ward and niece, Danielle O’Neal both of Elmore City.
Grandchildren: Jonathon Ward of Elmore City, Breanna Ward of California, and Zachary Ream of Oklahoma City.
Aunts, Minnie Heard of Del City and Hazel Carroll of Edmond; uncle and aunt, D. C. “Sonny” and Frances Ward of Meeker; and numerous cousins and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mavis Ward; a son, Jason Todd Ward; and sister, Shirley Ward.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.

The family is asking that you wear OU colors to the memorial service that will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Elmore City, OK with Joe Terrell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.net
