John William "J. W." Yandell

John William “J. W.” Yandell of Lindsay was born on June 13, 1934 in Hughes, Oklahoma to Clifford James Yandell and Cleo Agnes (Montgomery) Yandell. He passed from this life on Monday, January 15, 2018 in Lindsay at the age of 83 years. J. W. was a lifetime resident of Lindsay. He served his country in the U. S. Navy. He married Audry Cowden on April 26, 1958 in Gainesville, Texas. In 1982 J. W. started his own oilfield paraffin removal service and his truck was the first one to have hydraulics. He liked to build things. He loved his family and enjoyed family trips and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughters. J. W. had a nickname for everyone. He was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Audry of the home.Sons: John Yandell, Jr. and wife MaDonna of Duncan; Tim Yandell of Lindsay; and Nathan Yandell and fiancé Jennifer Johnston of Lindsay.Daughters: Johnna Johnson and husband Donald of Lindsay and Judy Summers and husband Jody of Maysville.Brothers: Wayne Yandell and wife Virginia of Lindsay, Galen Yandell and wife Teresa of Lindsay.Brother-in-law, Melvin Cowden and wife Glenda of Lindsay.Sister-in-law, Sue Riddle of Blanchard.Grandsons: Jeff Johnson, Kris Spivey and wife Lauren, Nick Johnson and wife Erin, Clint Spivey and wife Holli, Alex Yandell, and granddaughter, Alesha Yandell.Great granddaughters, Paisley Spivey and Jolee Rae Spivey. J. W. was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Cleo Yandell.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Johnson and Rev. Clay Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
