Jimmy Boyd Vaughan of Maysville was born on October 25, 1957 in Seminole, Texas to Boyd Eugene and Janetta Ruth (Ramsey) Vaughan. He joined his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at his home in Maysville, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.
Jimmy was a long-time resident of Maysville, graduating from Maysville High School in 1978. Upon graduating from high school, he worked in the oilfield for many years. He also ran a siding business with his brother, Brad. His great nephews have many fond memories of getting to work alongside him as he taught them the ropes of the business. He took great pride in his work and was a very talented craftsman.
Jimmy loved to cook, work in his garden, play war games and watch football. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and a loyal and true OSU fan. He enjoyed watching the History Channel, old westerns and was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour.
Jimmy was a loyal and devoted family man and loved each member of his family unconditionally. He made it a point to greet each one with a hug and ear to ear grin any time he saw them. He took on an active role in helping to raise his nephews and nieces Joe, Jake, Heather and Holli. Jimmy never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with friends and acquaintances. He took great joy in life and had a heart so big, he’d rather go without himself, than to see a person struggle. His orneriness has to be accounted for, as well as his joy and his love. Jimmy did everything a little extra. He was a very big man in that scrawny body. He will be missed immensely by his family and friends. We will hold his memory close to our hearts until we meet again.
He is survived by his mother, Janetta Vaughan, brother, Brad Vaughan, two sisters, Michelle Morehead and husband David, and Beth Curry; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Vaughan, sister, Ginger Kay Ramsey and brother Mike Vaughan.
