Jerry William Work of Lindsay was born on October 24, 1956 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Lige Work and Jonnie Ann (Colwell) McCaleb. He passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 in Midwest City at the age of 65.
Jerry grew up in Hughes where he attended school through the Eighth grade. He finished school and graduated from Lindsay High School in 1974. He went on to further his education at East Central University graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education in 1996. Jerry worked as an educator in the Oklahoma Public Schools for several years. He liked education and teaching students. He was an avid fisherman and musician who loved playing the guitar. Jerry enjoyed watching baseball, softball, and OU football. He loved hearing about his granddaughter's sports and all she was involved in. He attended the New Hope Holiness Church.
Survivors include his father, Lige Work of Lindsay and mother, Jonnie Ann McCaleb of Lindsay. Son, Chad Work and wife Michelle of Konawa. One granddaughter, Mariah Mundell. Brothers, Kenneth Alvin Work and Faye Roller of Elmore City and Stanley Work of Lindsay. Mother of his children, Laura Mackey of Maysville.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Elizabeth Work and daughter, Leah Irene Work.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 30, 2022 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
