James Edward Roberts of Maysville was born on January 2, 1938 in Oil Center, Oklahoma to Frank Bonnie Roberts and Pearl (McCutchen) Roberts. He passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 in his home at the age of 80 years.James was a graduate of Vanoss High School and married Norma Davis on September 30, 1961 in Gainesville, Texas. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. Fifty-seven years ago, he moved from Oil Center to Maysville. James worked as an oilfield roustabout for Shebester-Bechtel. He loved his family and spending time with them. They were extremely important to him and he especially enjoyed when they could all get together. James and Norma drove Karen to all of her treatment appointments. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, crafting jewelry, drawing, and music with Norma. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.His survivors include his wife of almost 57 years, Norma of the home; daughters, Karen DaVoult and husband James of Maysville and Kim Waite and husband Dale of Lindsay.And Norma’s adopted sister, Deborah Davis of Maysville.Grandchildren: Tami, Christina, Brandi, James, Jessica, Jennifer, Jaycee, Brianna, Amber, Heather, Gary, and Heath.Great-grandchildren: Maddox, Krae, Rawling, Doc, Briar, Elizabeth, Everett, Eli, Heaven, Mylee, Bubba Joe, Charlee, Bella, Mason, Kaylee.James was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pearl Roberts; son, Keith Roberts; and brother, DeWayne Roberts. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Maysville Cemetery with John R. Williams officiating and burial under the direction of John W.
