James Elmer Anderson of Lindsay was born on December 4, 1939 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Elmer and Minnie (Stephens) Anderson. He passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.
James graduated from Elmore City High School in 1959. He entered the U. S. Army the same year and later was involved in the Vietnam War. He made a career out of the military, being enlisted for 22 years, and holding the rank of Sergeant 1st Class when he retired in 1981. James married Patsy Hines on October 2, 1965 in Pauls Valley and to this union three sons were born. He loved his family very much and always enjoyed spending time with them. They moved to Lindsay in 1981 and for a while he drove semi-trucks cross country and worked in a 2-way radio shop. James enjoyed fishing, camping, and shooting guns. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patsy of the home.
Sons: James Anderson and wife Saundra of Lindsay; Dwight Anderson and wife Susan of Lindsay; and Steven Anderson and wife Angelita of Wapakoneta, Ohio.
7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with another one due in July, and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Minnie Anderson; brothers, R. C. Anderson, Calvin Anderson, and Earnest Anderson; and sisters, Marie Blankenship, Wanda Anderson, and an infant sister.
Masks and social distancing will be in place for the services.
Military Funeral Honors will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma with burial to follow. Services are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
