Huston L. Brooksher

Huston Lee Brooksher of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born on January 16, 1944 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Ollie Otto Brooksher and Ollie Mae (Wynn) Brooksher, He passed from this life on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in his home at the age of 77 years.

Huston was a lifetime resident of this area. He graduated from Elmore City High School. He married Gayel Whitecloud on September 3, 2003 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Huston raised horses and did custom haybaling. He loved his family and sitting outside on the porch just watching the day go by. He enjoyed horse races at Remington Park and Louisiana Downs, collecting knives, going to auctions, and playing dominoes. Huston attended the Antioch Cowboy Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gayel of the home and numerous other relatives.

Huston was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Aleeta McCaskill; and brothers, Earnest, Alvin, and Raymond.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Antioch Cemetery with Steven Gillispie officiating. Burial is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
