Harrison Oscar Owen

Harrison Oscar Owen of Pauls Valley was born on February 19, 1950 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 68 years.

Harrison was a lifetime resident of the Garvin County area. He attended school at Story, Hughes, and then graduated from Maysville High School in 1969. After graduation Harrison attended Murray State College and served our country in the Army National Guard. He worked at the Kerr-McGee Refinery for 20 years as a pipefitter and an operator on the hydrocracker unit. He married Janith Maness on June 3, 1988 in Paoli, Oklahoma. Harrison liked spending time with his family, sharing a meal with family and friends, and being around babies. He loved being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. His hunting trips were always a source of enjoyment for him. He was a member of the Dallas Wade Prison Ministries where he enjoyed preaching and spreading the gospel. Harrison loved singing and was very humble and always saw the good in everything. He was very supportive of everyone no matter who they were and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

His survivors include his wife, Janith Owen of the home.
Son, Joshua Hayes of Pauls Valley.
Daughter, Jill Holt and husband Thomas “Budd” of Maysville.
Papa to Jackson Hayes.
Brother, Russell Owen of Chickasha.
Sisters: Clara Mae Idleman of Lone Grove and Frankie Nielsen of Oakland, California

Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Alvia Owen; and sister, Maggie Staley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville with Rev. Claude Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
