Gwendolyn Beth Kittrell

December 24, 1965 — May 16, 2020

Gwendolyn Beth Kittrell, 54, of Maysville, OK went to be with her Lord after her brave fight with cancer, Saturday, May 16, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. Gwen was born December 24, 1965 to Gary and Kay (Bratcher) Kittrell in Pauls Valley, OK. Gwen attended Moore schools where she met Ted Dallas and graduated from Moore H.S. in 1984. After High School Gwen and Ted married in 1986. In 1993 they had one son, Brady Dallas, their pride and joy. Later on, they divorced and Gwen met and married Richard Simms. Richard brought to the marriage, one daughter, Rae Linn Simms.

Gwen was always a hard worker and sought great job opportunities. She began her career at The Oklahoma City Clinic then later became an excellent nail technician followed by her favorite job as a TSA agent at Will Rogers World Airport. That position was cut short in October 2006 when she suffered a massive brain aneurysm and forced her into medical retirement.

Gwen had an unfailing capacity to love. Her greatest love was her family. She so looked forward to being a “Grams” and adored her grandsons Todd and Elijah. She loved living at the lake and entertaining family and friends – especially her annual 4th of July Celebration. She also loved spending time with her Mom doing their favorite past-time, shopping, in which Gwen referred to as “Retail Therapy.” She also loved the series “Lonesome Dove” and watched it over and over and knew every single line by heart, and last but not least, she loved The Oklahoma Sooners!

In 2018 she moved to Maysville where she enjoyed being near her family. Gwen started attending First Baptist Church and was Baptized in July of 2019. She loved her ladies Sunday School class and felt so welcomed by her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Simms, maternal grandmother, Jeanine Bratcher, and paternal grandparents, Cecil and Nettie Kittrell. She is survived by her son, Brady and wife Desarey Dallas and grandsons, Todd and Elijah of Blanchard, her step-daughter, Rae Linn Simms of Moore, her parents, Gary and Kay Kittrell of Maysville, her brother, Randy Kittrell of Moore, her grandfather, Garland Bratcher and wife Vivian of Maysville, and a whole host of loving family and friends.
