Freddie Wayne Lawson, a devoted family man, decorated military veteran, successful entrepreneur and proud member of the Chickasaw Nation, passed away on January 26, 2025, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 88. Born in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Fred and Alpha Lawson, Freddie embodied a life of service, love, and dedication to those around him.

Freddie is survived by his son, Freddy, and grandchildren, Joanna, Michael, and Jonathan. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria; his daughter, Julianna; his siblings, Bennie, Carroll, Owen, Hugh, Vernice, Lonnie, and Reba; and his daughter-in-law, Tammy.

In 1957, Freddie married the love of his life, Maria, in Germany, beginning a partnership that spanned decades and continents. A proud and accomplished member of the U.S. Army, Freddie rose to the rank of Sergeant Major during a distinguished 31-year military career, including two tours of Vietnam. Serving as a Flight Operations Coordinator and Administrative Specialist, he earned numerous accolades, including the Air Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Aircraft Crewman Badge, among many others. His contributions to his country left a lasting legacy of honor and integrity.

After retiring from the Army in 1982, Freddie and Maria pursued their passion for hospitality by running a beloved German restaurant, Munchner Kind’l, in Killeen, Texas, for over 20 years. Together, they created a welcoming space filled with delicious food and warm memories for their community.

Freddie will be remembered by his family and friends as a generous, funny, and kind-hearted man. He loved spending time outdoors, surrounded by nature and animals, and cherished every moment with his loved ones. His legacy of love, dedication, and laughter lived on in the hearts of those who knew him,

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family via the Winans Funeral Home website, www.winansfuneralhome.com.

A time of visitation for friends and family will be held prior to the service on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
