Fern Lanett (Dutton) Taylor , age 68, of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, March 9, 2020 in her home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born on June 20, 1951 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to John Henry and Thelma Cleo (Anderson) Dutton.
Fern was a 1969 graduate of Lindsay High School. She married her love, Sammy Herbert Taylor later that year on September 2. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2019. Fern was hard-working, strong, a wonderful cook and homemaker among other incredible qualities. She loved music and dancing with her sweetheart, Sam. She loved her children and grandchildren “with all her heart”, as she wrote in the cards she gave them. Fern was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed shopping, auctions, playing internet bingo, her animals, and cooking for her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Her survivors include her husband of 50 years, Sammy of the home.
Son, Michael Taylor and wife Amanda of Lindsay.
Daughters, Lisa Doake and husband Jessie of Lindsay and Dana Martin and husband Kevin of Antioch.
Brothers, Herbert Dutton and Hank Dutton and wife Sharon all of Lindsay.
Sisters, Phyllis Ivy and husband Alfred of Elk City and Gayla Rouse and husband Larry of Lindsay.
Grandchildren: Keith Doake, Sarah Hines and husband Richard, Samantha Doake, Matthew Doake, Tasha Henderson and husband Jammie, Haylie McCartney and husband Scott, Harlie, Hallie, Hanlie, and Dutton Taylor.
Great grandchildren: Rachael Elizabeth Hines, Carson Lee Ray, and two great grandsons on the way.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Amanda Taylor; brother, David Dutton; sisters, Shirley Dennis and Addie Yarbrough; and grandsons, Robert Sam Blankenship and Christopher Michael Blankenship.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Winans Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 13, 2020 at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Rackley officiating. Burial will be in the Erin Springs Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
