Ethel Louise Luke

Ethel (Ezell) Luke “Nana”, age 90 passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 20th, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1932 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Dallas Christine (Lee) Copass and Doy Albert Copass. She was a 1950 graduate of Lindsay High School. During her senior year she married the love of her life, Walter Douglas Ezell, together they had four children. Ethel worked in the Broomcorn Factory for 10 years, after leaving the Broomcorn Factory she helped open Love’s Country Store in Lindsay where she retired after 24 years. Ethel was a hard worker and had a kind generous spirit, a woman of great faith, and was a member of Criner Baptist Church. Ethel cherished her grandkids and great grandkids, they were her world. When she wasn’t keeping her “Babies” she enjoyed coffee with her dear friends at McDonalds or the Recreational Center where she lived. Ethel loved Crime Shows and couldn’t miss an episode of Perry Mason. Ethel was loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Doy and Dallas Copass, her husband Walter Ezell, her daughter Davelyn Marie Clark, grandson Johnni D. Clark, her son Eugene Ezell, her sister Letha Richardson, her brother Ray Copass, and her son-in-law Jimmy Luke.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Karen Luke of Lindsay and son, Gary Ezell of Lindsay. Grandchildren: Rayne Luke and Rick of Lindsay, Diane Gustafson of Pauls Valley, Kelli Loper and husband Travis of Maysville, Doug Ezell and wife Timmi of Maysville, Dustin Ezell of Lindsay, and Kalé Hobson. Great grandkids: Sydney Wilson, Caden Gustafson, Carlee Gustafson, Tayler Loper, Tanner Loper, Jaydee Ezell, Addison Hobson, and Casin Hobson. A niece, Terri Avon.

A special thank you to Valir Hospice and Tammy for the exceptional care they provided to our Nana.

Casket Bearers: Travis Loper, Doug Ezell, Rick Parsley, Ronald Wilson, Dustin Ezell, and Matt Gustafson. Honorary Casket Bearer, Gary Ezell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay, OK with Bro. Tom Tanquary officiating. Burial is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
