Eddie Lee Cheek of Lindsay was born on August 20, 1954 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Robert James Cheek and Mildred Louise (Raper) Cheek. He passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 in Lexington at the age of 63 years.Eddie grew up in Maysville, graduating from Maysville High School in 1973. He worked as a maintenance man at McCaskill Nursing Home and Lindsay Manor Nursing Home for many years. He married Irene Vance Wigley on March 23, 2001 in Gainesville, Texas. Eddie loved his family and spending time with them, most of all his grandchildren. He liked watching television especially westerns with John Wayne, Walker Texas Ranger, and Elvis. He enjoyed sitting and visiting with anyone who would stop by his home. Eddie liked to go fishing and had once caught a 10 lb. bass out of a farm pond. He was a big OU football fan. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Eddie will be dearly missed by his family and friends.His survivors include his wife of 17 years, Irene Cheek of the home in Lindsay.A sister, Alice Ary of Red Oak.Daughters: Jennifer Carnell and husband Chad of Lindsay; and Melinda Akins of Maysville.Grandchildren: Jonathan Akins and wife Danielle, Hunter Carnell, Jarret Akins, Jessica Akins, Jeffery Carnell, and great granddaughter, Jericho Akins. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred Cheek; and brothers, Teddy Cheek and Kenneth Cheek.Memorial services will be held graveside at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the Maysville Cemetery with Rhonda Crosby officiating.
