Dorras Lorene Carson was born on August 2, 1924 in Faxon, Oklahoma to Russell and Agnes (Hennessee) Collins. She passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years.
Dorras grew up in numerous Oklahoma towns, since her father was a preacher. She graduated from Anadarko High School. She married Jack Carson in February of 1949 in Gainesville, Texas. She loved her family, especially the grandchildren. Dorras was the librarian for the City of Lindsay for many years where she was very dedicated worker. She was involved in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lindsay. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Her survivors include her son, Jim Carson and wife Glenda of Oklahoma City and daughter, Kit Jacobs and husband Danny of Purcell.
Her 99 year old sister, Eva Field of Broken Arrow.
Grandchildren: Gina Kidd, Eddie Jacobs, Austin Carson, and Cody Carson; and 5 great grandchildren.
Dorras was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carson; and sisters, Ovas Davis, Francis Justilian, and Joy Bray.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 5, 2021at the Erin Springs Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Mark Whitley officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at our website www.winansfuneralhome.com.
