On Monday the 18th of January, 2021 Doris “Elaine” Turner, loving wife and mother, and grammy passed away at the age of 62.
Elaine was born in Turlock, CA February 21, 1958 to Doyle and Imogene Morrison. Shortly after in 1970 the family moved to Garvin County Oklahoma and she remained a resident of Oklahoma the rest of her life. Growing up in Maysville, she attended Maysville High school where she met Charley Turner and they would be wed in 1976. Together they were blessed to have Cammey Lansdale in November 1976, Three years later came Charley Don Turner in April 1979. Fast forward another 3 years and she gave birth to Kent Turner in October of 1982. In the spring of 1983, Elaine met Ricky Wade and they would spend the next 37 years by each other’s side.
Elaine would do anything for her kids, and not just her biological kids, many called her Mom. Living only a few blocks away from Maysville High School, she often times cooked breakfast and lunch for 7 or 8. She had a passion for watching her kids play sports. She would cheer at the top of her lungs and everyone knew she was one proud Momma. She had a passion for cooking and she was very good at it. She also loved raising kids even became a foster parent. Elaine was known for her cheerful personality, love for her dogs, and quick witted compassionate spirit.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father Doyle, her mother Imogene, and brother Stanley. She is survived by three children, Cammey, Don, and Kent, foster children, Rhonda, Anita, Bobbie Jo, Josh, and Patric, sister Teresa Goodnight, grand children Cassandra, Elizabeth, Andrue, Shelby, Stormy, Jet, Rayce, and Kennedy, and great granddaughter Tessa and puppies Ruby and Piper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for her on Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, OK at 1 o’clock. Burial is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
