Dorcie M. Murray

Dorcie Mae Murray of Maysville was born on October 6, 1931 in Clovis, New Mexico to Raymond E. and Oda (Taylor) Willis and passed from this life on Monday, January 14, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 87 years.

Dorcie married Bobby Murray on December 24, 1947 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. From the time they were married, Bobby served his country in the U. S. Army and they were stationed in many places over the years, as far away as Germany where they lived four different times, before he retired in 1970. After Bobby’s retirement, they moved from California to Maysville, where Dorcie worked at the Pauls Valley State School for over 20 years before she retired. She loved her family and spending time with them at the lake home in Davis. She enjoyed reading, dominoes, dances, the Pauls Valley Opry, movies, and eating out with her friends. She was a great mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Dorcie was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Her survivors include her sons: Ray Murray and wife Susan of Sulphur; Carl Murray and wife Michelle of Maysville; and John Murray and wife Kim of Davis.
Daughters: Cathy Schevers and husband Dan of Donna, Texas and Susie Hill of Maysville.
11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren
Loving sister-in-law, Gaynor Willis of Rockport, Texas.

Dorcie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Oda Willis; husband, Bobby Murray; daughter, Brenda Smith; and brothers, Herman Willis and Roger Willis.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Winans Funeral Home, 401 Main St., Maysville, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville with Bro. Mike Deviney officiating. Burial will be in the Hopping Cemetery, Wayne, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma.
