Donald Moody of Yukon, Oklahoma was born on May 1, 1935 in Skyland, North Carolina to Jack and Viola (Butler) Moody. He passed from this life on December 31, 2018 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years.
Don grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Valley Spring High School. He enjoyed sharing stories about the beauty of his home state. He had lived in Oklahoma for more than 40 years. Don and Jean were married in 1980 and moved to Yukon. He was employed in the trucking business for many years as a driver for Yellow Trucking, in sales for Freightliner Trucks in Oklahoma City and as an independent trucker. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Yukon.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Mayhew and husband Bob of Arden, North Carolina.
Sons: Jon Moody and Jeff Moody of Asheville, North Carolina; step son, Larry Phillips and wife Sue of Rye, Colorado; and step son-in-law, Jerry Gamble of Maysville, Oklahoma.
6 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren.
He loved his dog Buttons, a faithful companion for many years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Viola Moody; his wife, Imogene Phillips Moody; and step daughter, Sandy Gamble.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Maysville Cemetery with Bro. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
