Don Howard Kosht

December 22, 1935 — March 30, 2019

Don Howard Kosht of Lindsay was born on December 22, 1935 in Canton, Ohio to Howard Benton Kosht and Bertha Iona (Marks) Kosht and passed from this life on March 30, 2019 in Lindsay at the age of 83 years young.

Don lived many places during his lifetime being in the military, most recently in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Lindsay, Oklahoma in October of 2018. He was a retired military man serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War as a flight mechanic refueler. He served as a Staff-Sergeant and was awarded many accommodations during his 20 years and 29 days of service. He loved being around airplanes and working on them. Don was also a life member of the Confederate Air Force. He was a good father, grandfather, and brother who loved spending time with his family and many good friends. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcyles and riding horses.

His survivors include his daughter, Donna Root and husband Dale of Lindsay.
Brothers: Gerald Kosht of Hayesville, Ohio; and Floyd Kosht of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Sisters: Marilynn Roud of Apache Junction, Arizona; Corena Stump of Canton, Ohio; and Lois Kocheiser of Mesa, Arizona.
And numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Benton Kosht and Bertha Iona Kosht; sisters, Inabel Kosht and Mary Walters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Winans Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Howse officiating under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Mr. Kosht will be escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders to the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK for burial at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 4, 2019 under the direction of the Fort Sill National Cemetery.
