David E. Wall passed peacefully of natural causes on September 9th, 2020. He attended Pauls Valley High School where he earned his varsity letter in raising hell and graduated in 1960.
Upon graduation he joined the United States Navy where he served aboard the aircraft carrier Franklin D. Roosevelt as nuclear weapons technician. Discharged honorably from the Navy he would return to Pauls Valley and began working at General Electric and attending Central State University. He graduated from Central State University in 1968 with a BA in Business Management.
In 1968 he enlisted in the Air Force and began flight training in San Antonio TX. Graduating from flight school in 1969, he volunteered for service in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for a volunteer mission at night and in hazardous weather. He continued to serve in the Air Force and would retire after 16 years of service as a major. After retirement from the Air Force, he began work as a commercial pilot and would retire from American Airlines.
In 1996 he met the love of his life Gloria Mobley and would spend the next 23 years going on adventures and traveling the world. He was known for his great sense of humor and the most mischievous grin that would always make you think he was up to something. He loved spending time with family and friends, a good meal and a drink, just talking and telling stories.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, mother, father and brother. He is survived by his son and grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
