Charles Ray Holden of Lindsay was born on August 30, 1936 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Jack Henry and Genevieve (Comstock) Holden. He passed from this life on Saturday, May 15, 2021 in Davis, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.
Charles was a lifetime resident of Lindsay. He worked as a Leadman at the Dolese Brothers Plant where he was known as “Hook”. He loved his family, especially the grandchildren, and they were all extremely important to him. Charles enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, and fishing. He liked giving his garden produce to people in the community, like the Senior Citizens, Fire Department, and others. He loved his sweets, Dr. Pepper, and a good hamburger. Charles was a big cut-up, practical joker, and loved playing Santa Claus at Christmas. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His survivors include his sons: Ray Holden (Velda) of Sulphur; Charles Holden, Jr. of Norman; and Kevin Holden of Sulphur.
Daughters: Tammy Thompson (Ricky) of Sulphur; Pam Brown of Tustin, California; Consuela Cowen (Timothy) of Sulphur; and Amanda Kintopp (Robert) of Davis.
His sweetheart, Hazel White of Lindsay.
Brother, Kenneth Holden (Judy) of Lindsay.
Sisters: Margie Wilson (Richard) of Lindsay; Geneva George of Lindsay; and Janet Howell (Tommy) of Ardmore.
17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
And his neighbors and special friends that took great care of him, Bill and Wanda Ramsey of Lindsay.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Genevieve Holden; brother, Jackie Holden; and brother-in-law, Jimmy George.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay, OK with Bro. Eric Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
