Buster Merl Brown, Sr. of Maysville was born on September 1, 1938 in Centrahoma, Oklahoma to James Thomas and Sophie Lee (Reed) Brown. He passed from this life on Friday, April 29, 2022 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years.
Buster had lived in Maysville all his life. He married Minnie Lee Johnson on April 10, 1958 and they shared a life together for almost 53 years before her passing. Buster worked for Cudd and Enterprise, and he loved working at Garvin County Yard District #1 as a mechanic and all the friends he made though out the years. Buster loved his family and friends. He liked teaching his grandkids and great grandchildren how to do things. He enjoyed playing pool, dominoes, going fishing, and watching game shows. Buster will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include sons: Tommy Brown of Maysville and David Brown of Ardmore; Daughters: Debra Lawson of Maysville; Sheila Keith and Rodney of Maysville; and Pam Miller and Ron of Noble. Brothers: Donnie Brown and Dale Brown. 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and many other relatives.
Buster was preceded in death by his parents; wife Minnie Lee Brown; son, Buster Merle Brown, Jr.; daughter, Kerri Lynn Brown; granddaughter, Kara Brown; brothers: Bennie Brown, James Brown, G. W. “Dub” Brown; and sisters: Vera Stone, Midge Conklin, Betty Miller, Patsy Lewis, Leota Bailey, and Billie Dehart.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 5, 2022 in the First Assembly of God Church, Maysville, OK with Bro. Johnny Tyler officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
