Billy Lee Barnett of Pauls Valley was born on November 23, 1948 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Bill and Dorothy Lee (Driskill) Barnett. He passed away from this life with his wife and children at his side on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years.
Billy grew up in Pauls Valley where he graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1966. He married the love of his life, Deborah Lynn Warren on November 6, 1969 in Gainesville, Texas. They lived in Ardmore until 1980 when they moved to Pauls Valley to live on the old home place. Billy worked as an equipment operator for Uniroyal/Michelin Tire Manufacturing until retirement. He loved his family dearly and spending time with them was very important to him. He enjoyed their Padre Island vacations. Pa’s, as his grandchildren called him, loved each and everyone of his grandchildren Billy raised fighting roosters, liked going to the Dog Trade in Sulphur, and squirrel hunting. Another one of his favorite pastime was raising a garden of tomatoes and peppers. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Deborah of the home.
Daughters: Shelly Cantrell and Robert Grover of Springer, and DeeAnn Barnett and James Spears of Pauls Valley.
Brother, Stephen Barnett and Paula of Broken Arrow.
9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dorothy Barnett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK with Pastor Jeremy Clayton officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
