Billie Joe Beams was born on August 27, 1931, in Purcell, Oklahoma to Joe and Ruth (Kinney) Beams and passed away on July 29, 2024, in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years.
Billie was a longtime resident of Maysville and retired from Conoco as a gauger. He married Juanita Huddleston in 1951, and they were married 57 years at the time of her passing. Billie enjoyed fishing, shopping for antiques, OU football and in earlier times feeding out calves and being around his livestock. He also enjoyed the many trips he took with the Chickasaws. One of his favorite memories was the trip to Amish Country in Ohio. Billie was also a great cook. (He would even joke that he was a better cook than Juanita.) His BBQ was famous with the citizens of Maysville. Billie enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and telling a good story. If you visited for very long with Billie and he wasn't for sure if you were saved, he would ask and then proceed to witness. He wanted everyone to go to heaven. In the later years, he became quite fond of Diet Mt Dew; he often stated it was the best drink around and it sure tasted good. Billie was a loving father and he will be dearly missed. Billie will also be missed by a special friend Laverne Nabors and her family.
