Ardith Lavera Stinnett of Lindsay was born on July 27, 1940 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to John and Nora (Coburn) Davison. She passed from this life on Thursday, October 13, 2022 in her home at the age of 82 years.
Ardith was raised in Guthrie and graduated in 1958 from Guthrie High School. She married Orley Don Land and a daughter, Lorri was born to this union; then she married Vernon Hudson and they had a son, Rick. Later on, she married Tom Stinnett on April 24, 1979 in Gainesville, Texas and in 2010 he preceded her in death. She worked in admissions at Lindsay Municipal Hospital for several years. Ardith loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and sending stuff home with them and for them. They will all tell you she was the best! She had many friends and kept them close to her heart and if you were hers, you truly were hers. It didn’t matter where you saw her, you might as well get ready for a hug, kiss, and a “I Love You”! Ardith enjoyed cooking because she knew there were going to be a bunch of happy bellies, especially with brownies. She loved her flowers and growing things outside as well as inside and all things birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorri McCoy and Sandy of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren: Josh (Julie) Marcellus of Garden City, KS; Tommy (Jamie) Marcellus of Liberal, KS; Eric (Amber) Marcellus of Amarillo, TX; Nathan (Amanda) Marcellus of Alamogordo, NM. 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sister, Betty Hudson of Lindsay; brother, Bobby Dean of Guthrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ardith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Stinnett; son, Rick Hudson; brothers, Charlie Hayes, John Davison, Jr., Delbert Davison; sister, Dora Bell Bassard.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK with burial under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK 73057. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
