Alfreda "Freda" Penry

Alfreda “Freda” Penry of Maysville was born on March 4, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to Alfred Gaston and Wavalene (Friend) Gaston Farmer. She passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 68.

Freda graduated high school from Harrisville, West Virginia. She worked on the pipelines as a field worker, roustabout, and runner. She moved from Denim Springs, Louisiana to Maysville in 1984. She was married to the love her life, Mike Penry. Freda loved her family, especially the grandchildren, and cooking for them when they had family get-togethers. She enjoyed the Hallmark Channel, watching her hummingbirds, and drinking coffee on the front porch. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Her survivors include her husband, Mike Penry of the home.
Daughters: Tara Johnson and husband Mike of Lindsay; Shellie Holbert of Maysville; Lori Beth Holbert of Maysville; Amber Holbert of Maysville and step-daughters, Micah Penry, Misti McClure, and Tina Beckett.
Brother, Randal Gaston and wife Marion of Harrisville, West Virginia.
Grandchildren: Allyn Michael, Kortney and husband Brandon, Baylee and husband Joel; Jarron, Kieran, Jacy, Bubba, Bella, Colton, Payton, Ryan, Tayia, Kyler, McKenna, and great grandchilden, Wyatt and Raelee.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Gaston, Wavalene and Martis “Curly” Farmer; son, Jeremy Joe Holbert; and sisters, Patricia Vail, Linda, and Bobbie Gaston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville, OK with Bro. David Paul Flanary. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
