Aaron Don Potts

February 16, 1990 — June 17, 2023

Aaron Don Potts was born on February 16, 1990, to Frank Potts, Jr and Karen Potts (Sims) in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 17, 2023, at his home in Paoli, Oklahoma.
Aaron, a fraternal twin, grew up alongside twin brother Allen, sister Ashley, nephews Seth and Jared, and niece Caity.  They were quite the group.  Aaron lived in the Paoli area his entire life.  He attended Paoli Schools throughout his elementary and high school scholastic career.  He was a very hard worker and although schoolwork and his studies did not come easy for him, he attacked them with a strong work ethic.  Aaron was proud to be a Pug and played on three state playoff football teams on the offensive line alongside brother Allen and nephew Seth.  While in high school Aaron took a part time job at Super C Grocery Store in Maysville, Oklahoma.   With his characteristic grit and determination he worked and saved money to buy his first two vehicles entirely on his own.
Aaron graduated from Paoli schools in 2008 and attended East Central University.  He attacked his collegiate scholastic career with his characteristic strong work ethic and determination.  Although it didn’t come easy for him, he graduated with a Bachelor of science with a major in kinesiology in 2014.
After college graduation Aaron continued to work in the grocery business.  He left his job at Super C after 13 years with the company. His coworkers and customers were more like an extended family to him.  He began a career with Wal-Mart in 2021 where he worked until his passing.
In his spare time Aaron enjoyed hanging out with family.  He loved playing with his nieces and nephews.  They lovingly referred to him as Uncle Aaron or Uncie and he loved to be called that.  He was very active in attending as many of their activities as possible.  He also loved to play video games, fish, and play disc golf and corn hole.  Aaron was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Oklahoma Sooner football fan.  He was a very kind, loving and sensitive man.  His sense of humor, determination and sensitive demeanor will be missed by all.  To say Aaron was loved is an understatement.  Aaron was loved big but he loved bigger.
Aaron is survived by brothers: Frank Potts III and wife Libby of Paoli, Oklahoma and twin brother, Allen Potts and wife Lindsey of McLoud, Oklahoma; sisters: Cindy Lynn and husband Gary of Stratford, Oklahoma, Janice Beasley and husband Billy of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Ashley Churchwell and husband Bo of Dale, Oklahoma; his brother from another mother, Lance Sumner;  nephews: Seth Potts and wife Tammi,  Jared Lynn, River Potts, and Dustin Beasley; 2 special nephews; nieces: Caitlin Lynn and fiancé’ Skylar Haney, Khloee Potts and Kissa Hammond; great niece, Piper Potts and paternal grandmother Flora Potts; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Aaron is preceded in death by his parents Frank Jr and Karen Potts; maternal grandparents Les and June Sims; paternal grandfather Frank Potts Sr, a cousin Chase Hunt (that was more a brother than a cousin), along with several other cousins and uncles.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Paoli with Tim Duncan officiating.  Burial will be at the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of John W.
