Aaron Bruce Conner

December 31, 1953 — June 29, 2020

Aaron Bruce Conner, of Moore, was born on December 31, 1953 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Walter N. Conner and Bernice (Myatt) Conner. He married Yvonne Baskett on August 8, 1997 in Oklahoma City, and they spent a total of 30 years together. Aaron Bruce passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020.

Bruce grew up in Lindsay, graduating from Lindsay High School in 1972. When he was younger, Bruce was self-employed, owning his own oilfield kill trucks, and later as an artist, musician, and owner of Conner Ornamental Ironworks. He was the first person to earn a NASDA diving instructor license while still under the age of 21. He belonged to a dive team, Deep Freaks, which set a world record in depth diving and are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Bruce was a creative person and a very talented piano and guitar player. He was a long standing member of the Lindsay Elks Lodge. Bruce was also a member of Banner Baptist Church.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife Yvonne Conner, of the home in Moore. One son, Brandon Conner and wife Jessica of Lindsay. Step-daughter, Dana Egli and husband Kevin of Moore, and step-son Aaron Shane Tatum and wife Michelle of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren: Briar, Laney, and Eli Conner of Lindsay; Zachary Tatum and wife Amanda of Oklahoma City; Ryan Tatum and wife Whitney of Norman; and Glenn Tatum of Moore. Great grandchildren: Olivia, Sophie, Zane, and Ian Tatum of Oklahoma City.

Bruce was preceded in death by his loving parents and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
