Goldie May Thurston of Lindsay was born on May 5, 1936 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Dave Luther Ince and Vernie Ellen (Bailey) Ince. She passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Lindsay at the age of 81 years. Goldie was born the 7th child of 13. She had lived in Snyder, California, and Marlow, but most of her life she had resided in Altus, Oklahoma until six years ago when she moved to Lindsay. She married Carlton Thurston and he preceded her in death. While living in Altus, she worked at the sewing factory and the Dairy Queen. She loved to work and take walks everyday. Goldie enjoyed quilting and her cats and dogs. She liked when her brother, Bill, would bring her little gifts from places when was on the road. She had been a member of the Assembly of God Church in Altus and the Church of God in Marlow. Goldie will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her brothers: Jack Ince and wife Pauline of Lindsay, Bill Ince and wife Ada Marie of Lexington, and Cecil Ince and wife Esther of Elmore City. Sisters: Lora Hosler of Little Axe, OK, Lillie Robison of Lindsay, and Martha Auld and husband Vernon of Colcord, OK. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Thurston; brothers, George Ince and Joseph Ince; sisters, Ruby McDonald, Annie Scott, Geneva Dutton, and Ruby Sanders. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating.
