James Donnie “Don” Parks of Maysville was born on September 9, 1935 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Coy Odell and Morene (Andrews) Parks. He passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. Don was a lifetime resident of this area, growing up in Purdy. He graduated from Lindsay High School in 1953 and attended Oklahoma State University. He served his country in the United States Army. Don worked in the oilfield where he drove a truck for Kerr McGee and Gainesville Fuel. He enjoyed his cattle, bottle feeding his calves, breaking horses and riding them in parades, and tinkering on stuff in his barn, and spending time outside. He loved his dogs, Toby and Sadie. Don was a member of the Abundant Love Fellowship. His survivors include his wife, Lois of the home in Maysville. Daughter, Lisa Springman and husband Tony of Maysville. Daughter, Cathy Nobles of Maysville. Son, Dale McDaniel and wife Sandy of Lafayette, Indiana. Brother, Joe Parks and wife Norma of Foster. Sister, Billie Fuller of Wayne. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Morene Parks; a son Andy Parks; and brother, Tommy Dale Parks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Abundant Love Fellowship, Maysville with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating.
