Michelle Lee Stelzig

Michelle Lee Stelzig of Lindsay was born on May 19, 1969 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Michael Loy and Judy Lee (Weedin) Barnes. She passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 due to a tragic auto accident north of Lindsay at the age of 47 years. Michelle grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma graduating from Broken Arrow High School in 1987 and obtaining her B. S. Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State. She was an Registered Nurse who worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She moved to Lindsay 18 years ago from Broken Arrow. Michelle loved her family and her children were her world, she was always there to watch them play sports and exhibit their show animals. She was very active in the FFA and Basketball Booster Clubs and her church, Calvary Baptist Church, which was very important to her. She enjoyed baking cakes, Facebooking, watching OU Sports, and Thunder Basketball games, and hanging out with her girlfriends. Michelle will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her survivors include her children, Trever Loy Barnes Stelzig, Tyler Joseph Stelzig, and Tara Michelle Stelzig of Lindsay. Her parents, Michael and Judith Barnes of Lindsay. Paternal grandmother, Barbara Barnes of Broken Arrow. A brother, Gregory Loy Barnes and wife Tammie of Flower Mound, Texas. Nephews, Zachery Barnes and Blake Barnes. Aunts and uncles: Janet and Mike Beason, Jo Kirkwood, Frances and Chester Rothhammer, Trace and Ellen Morgan, and numerous cousins. And father of her children, Joe Stelzig. Michelle was preceded in death by her son, Austin Loy Barnes. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been setup at the American Exchange Bank, c/o David Miller, 402 S. Main, Lindsay, OK 73052. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Winans Funeral Home, 405 Sixth Street, Maysville, OK. Pallbearers are Zach Barnes, Blake Barnes, Quinton Robbins, Todd Tigert, Terry Thomas, Jared Noblitt, Robert Jones, Grant Cleary and honorary pallbearers are Aric Bearden and David Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Lindsay with Rev. Brandon Cottrell officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
