Janice June (Rose) Reeves was born on March 8, 1926 in Lexington, Oklahoma to C. S. “Slick” and Ruby Lee (Chandler) Rose. She went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Janice graduated from Maysville High School in 1943. She married Roy E. Reeves on June 30, 1944 in Maysville and they made their home in the Maysville and Velma areas where Mr. Reeves was the postmaster. She worked as the school cafeteria manager in both the Maysville and Velma Schools. Janice loved to sew and knit, play cards, watch old movies, and was known for her pie making. She was a longtime member of the Maysville Church of Christ. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Roylene Burns of Dallas, Texas; son, Terry Reeves and wife Sharri of Yukon, Oklahoma; and daughter, Nancy Lang and husband Robert of Forney, Texas. A sister, Shirley Cassity of Oklahoma City and a loving “Granny” to 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. And her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Roy E. Reeves, parents C. S. “Slick” and Ruby Rose and son-in-law Richard Burns. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to: Rock Creek Youth Camp, c/o Maysville Church of Christ, PO Box 562, Maysville, OK 73057 Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Church of Christ, Maysville with Dwight Brown and Rev. Jeremy Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
